Susanna Schnibbe, born 1968 in Furtwangen, Schwarzwald. Trained as fashion designer at Lette Verein Berlin,1987. Six month stint in Australia modelling for the Melbourne Fashion Design Council. 1988 - 90 Fine arts studies by Raoul Bustamante(Chile), Nelson Leiva(Chile), Harald Hermann(D) at Experimentelles Atelier für Kunst.1991 first solo show with Jos Fritz galery. Co-founder of the Institut für angewandte Lebensfreude IAL (Performance) and set up designer for the privately-run theatre costume stock FUNDUZ. 94 - 97 Trained as set painter at the Municipal Theatre Freiburg, since 1998 Susanna Schnibbe has been pursuing her artistic career in earnest and working freelance. Project direction : art is everyday.1998 she received an Artist in Residence grant for Chateau de Monthelon (France),1999 solo show "ich-muster-du", galerie Bumerang Freiburg, 2000 performane piece at "minutes only" Karlsruhe. At the same time completing a number of private residential and commercial retail interior design and interior paint effect commissions, as well as completing sets for the Freiburg Children’s and Youth Theatre Marienbad. She was commissioned to collaborate as a painter on the new curtain for the Madrid Royal Opera and worked for the production of Ludwig II at the Musicaltheatre in Füssen. Since 2000, Susanna Schnibbe has been living and working in Berlin, completing commissions to paint sets for theater productions : "Gezeiten" by Sasha Waltz at Schaubühne, Dance Theater, „Na Du alte alte Kack-bratze“ by Kurt Krömer at Wühlmäuse cabaret, comedy show. She collaborated on films such as "Wolfsburg" by Christian Petzold, "Baal" by Uwe Jansen, Knall Hart by Detlev Buck, more at www.crewunited.de, Colour consultancies and paint effect work in Berlin including commissions for i.a. Restaurant OKI Berlin, Café Laß uns Freunde bleiben Berlin, Fritiersaloon Berlin, Club Spindler & Klatt Berlin, Restaurant-Club White Trash and Tier-bar Berlin.
2003 solo show "Matterhorn" at Rocketshop gallery and 2004 group show "postarica" at Post-Ost Berlin.
2009 - 2010 streetart project "be (a)ware of fish" on the occasion of 4emes Recontres de Monthelon (France), and for the group show "ohne Gebrauchsanweisung" at artCore galery Berlin.
